How to make Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients
- 225g unsalted butter, softened
- 150g granulated sugar
- 150g packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 5ml vanilla extract
- 280g all-purpose flour
- 5g baking soda
- 2.5g salt
- 350g chocolate chips (or chunks)
Method
- Preheat your oven to 175°C.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Add in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips, making sure they're evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving some space between each cookie.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden but the centers are still soft. Keep an eye on them to avoid over-baking.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
- Enjoy your delicious homemade chocolate chip cookies with a glass of milk or your favorite beverage!
Feel free to get creative and add nuts, dried fruits, or even different types of chocolate for a unique twist. Happy baking!
